GCash for business: ways to accept it and what can be automated
Short answer

The ways to accept GCash
GCash’s business pages split by business size. The pages read on 12 Oct 2026 describe these routes.
| Route | Who it is for | What GCash says |
|---|---|---|
| GCash for Business Starter | Solo entrepreneurs and bazaar sellers | “The fastest way to register, with just a Fully Verified GCash Account* required”. The footnote reads “must be a 12-month fully verified account”. Includes a PHP 5 million wallet limit |
| GCash for Business Premium | Businesses that need more than Starter | Unlimited wallet limit, multiple branch locations, disbursements, EasyPOS |
| PocketPay | Sellers with a phone | “Turn your mobile phone into a POS terminal” to accept card and QR Ph payments. Download the free PocketPay app after approval |
| SoundPay and SoundPay Plus | Shops with a counter | Audible confirmation of each payment. SoundPay Plus accepts debit, credit and QR Ph |
| In-Store QR | Enterprises | Payments swept to your nominated bank account, a payment dashboard |
| Webpay | Enterprises selling online | The same sweep and dashboard for online payments |
| Funds Disbursement | Employers and platforms | Payouts for salaries, bonuses and allowances, with no minimum balance |

GCash’s MSME page says the GCash for Business portal lets a business “Accept customer payments, move funds with no fees and track your transactions seamlessly in one dashboard.” The “no fees” wording there refers to moving funds. It is not a statement about fees on customer payments, and the pages read do not list those fees. Ask GCash for current terms.
Enterprise pages say GCredit and GGives payments are “Available for Partnership and Corporation”. Their sign-up forms ask for the business registered name, “For Sole Proprietor - DTI Registration” or “For Partnership and Corporation - SEC”.
How to apply
GCash’s pages describe the small-seller route in a few steps. The list is a summary of the pages, not a checklist from GCash.
Check the account
The Starter tier needs a fully verified GCash account that is 12 months old, per the page footnote.
Open the portal
Create an account on the GCash for Business portal, or fill in the enterprise inquiry form with your registered business name.
Apply
Complete the GCash for Business application. The Micro page lists no additional requirements for the Starter route.
Add a payment tool
Once approved, download the PocketPay app, or choose SoundPay Plus or a QR option for a shop.
Check the terms
Read the GCash terms and ask about fees before you rely on a route.
GCash’s Help Center has a section for businesses at help.gcash.com. Requirements and tiers change, so read it before you apply.
The gateway route for websites and chat
A business that sells through a website, a chat link or a store platform can use a payment gateway that offers GCash. PayMongo’s pricing page, read on 12 Oct 2026, lists these rates, all “exclusive of VAT”:
| Method | Rate listed by PayMongo |
|---|---|
| GCash | 2.23% |
| Maya | 1.79% |
| GrabPay | 1.96% |
| QR Ph (online and in-store) | 1.34% |
| Visa and Mastercard | 3.125% + PHP 13.39 |
The page lists no setup fee and no monthly fee on its standard plan, and says standard settlement takes 2 to 7 days, with an instant settlement option. It also lists payment links, plugins and an API. A gateway fee is a cost on every sale, so work it into your price. If you sell on Shopify, Shopify adds its own fee for third-party providers.
This site did not compare gateways. Other providers exist, and Odoo’s documentation lists Xendit and AsiaPay as supported payment providers for the Philippines, which shows the range is wider than one name.
What can be confirmed automatically
The pages read describe three kinds of confirmation:
- Audible alert. SoundPay Plus gives “audible confirmation for every payment” at the counter. A person still has to hear it and act.
- Dashboard record. GCash’s portal and enterprise pages describe a dashboard that shows transactions.
- Gateway payment records. A gateway returns a payment status for each checkout it processes. Which events and notifications each gateway offers is in its own documentation, which was not read here.
The pages read do not describe an automatic notification for a transfer sent to a personal GCash number. A business that takes payment that way confirms by checking the app, which adds a manual step and a risk of mistakes. Using a business tier or a gateway gives you a record that a workflow can read. This guide does not advise on which route meets your legal or tax obligations.
From payment to sheet to books
Once a payment has a record, an automation tool can copy it where your team works. A common path, shown as an illustration:
- A gateway or portal records a paid order.
- A workflow tool such as n8n or Zapier receives the notification or reads the export, if the provider offers one.
- The workflow adds a row to a sheet with the order number, amount and fee.
- The same row, or a daily summary, goes to accounting software such as QuickBooks or Odoo, or to a spreadsheet you keep. See Excel automation for the spreadsheet side.
- A person reviews exceptions: refunds, partial payments and mismatches.
Each step depends on a connector or export that your provider offers. Check that before you build. The workflow guide explains how to describe a process before choosing a tool, and AI for business in the Philippines covers wider uses.
What to plan for
Fees and terms change. GCash’s pages read do not state fees on customer payments, so confirm them. Gateway rates are exclusive of VAT.
Records are personal data. Payment records hold names and amounts. The Data Privacy Act of 2012 applies to the business.
Money handling is regulated. GCash says it is regulated by the BSP. This guide is not financial, tax or legal advice. Ask your accountant and the provider.
Consumer questions. Sending money, paying bills and opening a personal wallet are covered in GCash’s own help pages, not here.
