Maya Business account types
Maya’s pages read for this guide do not set out account types in one list. The business page did not describe them. What Maya’s guide to the Business Deposit account does say:
- It is offered to existing Maya Business merchants. The guide covers sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations.
- Every applicant needs updated business details and documents, valid proof of identity of the ultimate beneficial owner or authorized signatory, a selfie for identity checks (up to 2 MB, with a valid ID) and agreement to Maya’s Terms and Conditions.
- A sole proprietor adds a DTI Certificate of Registration, and authorized signatories add a Notarized Special Power of Attorney. A partnership needs its latest General Information Sheet and a notarized partners’ resolution. A corporation needs its latest General Information Sheet and a notarized board resolution.
- Verification takes up to 3 business days after the terms are accepted, if the requirements are complete.
- The guide mentions a Maya 1-2-3 Grow Bundle with 2.5% annual interest on the account and a 1% merchant discount rate on QR Ph sales for 3 months after onboarding. Check Maya for the current terms of any bundle. Minimum balance and fees for the account are not stated on that page.
Requirements can change, so confirm them on Maya’s own site before applying.

Last verified: 12 Oct 2026. Rates are in Philippine pesos as Maya lists them, so no conversion is applied.
Maya’s pricing page does not list InstaPay or PESONet fees, settlement timing or an account opening fee, so none is quoted here. Maya’s page points to business.signup@maya.ph and business.maya.ph for them. Maya’s Terms and Conditions state that Maya may change the MDR during the agreement and that the rate is set in the term sheet or schedule signed by the merchant, so your rate may differ from the starting rate.
Settlement and records
The Terms and Conditions page says Maya settles to a Maya account or a merchant bank account that Maya recognises, with payouts net of the MDR, taxes, refunds and other amounts due. It says Maya pays at times determined by Maya according to prevailing practice, so the page gives no fixed schedule. Other points a merchant should know from the same page:
- Settlements can be held during chargeback events or fraud investigations, or when required documents are missing.
- Merchants are asked to keep transaction records. The periods quoted are 12 months for transaction drafts and 24 months for receipts and invoices.
- Merchants pay expanded withholding tax on MDR amounts where required and provide the certificate of tax withheld. Ask your accountant how this applies.
This is a summary of an agreement, not legal or tax advice. Read the current version before signing.
What can be automated
Maya’s developer site is aimed at software developers, and it documents several pieces that a workflow can use:
- Checkout. Maya Checkout sends customers to a Maya-hosted payment form with card, digital wallet and QR Ph options, then redirects back to your page. Maya lists REST API, plugin and SDK integrations, subject to availability. Enabling payment methods means contacting a Maya Relationship Manager or business.support@maya.ph.
- QR Ph. Needs an active Maya merchant account with QR Ph enabled, used through Maya Checkout or Maya Terminals.
- Sandbox. A test environment with test cards and an API explorer. Maya’s Checkout page says Maya is the only e-wallet testable in the sandbox, and that GCash, QR Ph, ShopeePay and WeChat can only be tested in production.
- Webhooks. Register a callback URL in Maya Manager under Settings, Webhooks, or by calling the webhook API. Maya sends an HTTPS POST for events such as
PAYMENT_SUCCESS,PAYMENT_FAILED,PAYMENT_EXPIREDandPAYMENT_CANCELLED.
The webhook rules in Maya’s guide matter for any workflow tool you point it at. The endpoint must use SSL on port 443 and answer 200 OK within 5 seconds. A failed delivery is retried up to four attempts in total, at once and then 5, 15 and 45 minutes later, so the same event can arrive twice and your workflow should skip duplicates. Maya also asks you to allow only its listed IP addresses.
Typical automations a Philippine seller can build on those events:
- On
PAYMENT_SUCCESS, mark the order paid in a sheet and send the customer a confirmation message. - On
PAYMENT_EXPIRED, send one reminder with the payment link. - Record each payment with date, amount and reference for end-of-day matching.
- Alert a person for failures or unusual amounts.
A webhook can start a workflow in n8n or Zapier, subject to Maya’s rules above. Neither tool’s pages were checked for Maya-specific nodes, so confirm the setup in their documentation. Zapier’s Free plan does not include webhooks, according to the Zapier guide. The automation pillar guide and the small business workflow guide explain the general approach.
Regulatory status of Maya and its products was not checked against a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas page for this guide, so none is stated. Confirm what you need from Maya and the BSP directly.
