Shopify for Philippine sellers: plans, fees and local payments
Short answer
Shopify is a hosted platform for online stores. Its Philippine pricing page lists Basic at $19, Grow at $49 and Advanced at $299 a month on yearly billing, about PHP 1,194, PHP 3,078 and PHP 18,783. Shopify Payments is not on its list of supported countries, so Philippine stores use third-party payment providers, and each plan lists a fee on those payments from 2% down to 0.2%.

What Shopify is
Shopify’s pricing page says all plans include unlimited web hosting, a custom domain name and a free SSL certificate, plus an online store with themes and templates, unlimited products, inventory management and a built-in AI assistant called Sidekick. The page describes the checkout as “World’s best checkout”, which is Shopify’s claim and has not been checked here. It says a store can sell online, in person and “in AI chats”.
For Philippine sellers, the questions that shape the choice are the plan price in pesos, the fee on payments, and which payment methods customers can use.
Plans in pesos
Shopify’s Philippine pricing page shows prices in US dollars. Peso figures are conversions at USD 1 = PHP 62.821, the rate for 9 Oct 2026.
| Plan | Yearly billing (per month) | Approx. pesos | Monthly billing (per month) | Approx. pesos |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $19 | PHP 1,194 | $25 | PHP 1,571 |
| Grow | $49 | PHP 3,078 | $65 | PHP 4,083 |
| Advanced | $299 | PHP 18,783 | $399 | PHP 25,066 |
| Plus | Not listed separately | Not applicable | From $2,300 | PHP 144,488 |

The page also lists a POS Pro add-on at $89 a month per location (about PHP 5,591) and the trial offer shown above, $1 a month for 3 months after a 3-day trial. Taxes were not shown on the page, so the checkout total may differ.

Fees on payments
Shopify’s pricing page lists a percentage for “3rd-party payment providers” on each plan. That is a Shopify fee on top of whatever the provider charges. The page’s comparison table adds that showing prices in local currencies and accepting local payment methods “require Shopify Payments”.
Shopify’s help center page for Shopify Payments says a business can use it “if your business is located in one of the supported countries listed on this page”, and adds that a business whose country is not listed “need[s] to use a third-party payment provider”. The Philippines is not on that list, which includes Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Australia and New Zealand among Asia-Pacific countries. A Philippine store therefore pays Shopify’s third-party fee on every sale taken through a provider.
A worked illustration, with made-up figures: on a PHP 1,000 order paid through a third-party provider on Basic, Shopify’s fee is 2%, or PHP 20, before the provider’s own fee. On Grow, the same order carries a PHP 10 Shopify fee.
Local payments
Which providers connect to a Philippine store is a list to check at Shopify and at each provider. This page confirms two pieces from primary sources:
- PayMongo. Its pricing page, read on 12 Oct 2026, lists GCash at 2.23%, Maya at 1.79%, GrabPay at 1.96%, QR Ph at 1.34% and cards at 3.125% plus PHP 13.39, all “exclusive of VAT”. It lists a plugin offer under “Payment Links, Plugins & Pages” at its standard rate. It does not say on that page which store platforms its plugins cover, so confirm Shopify support with PayMongo.
- GCash. GCash’s own pages describe its Webpay product for enterprises online. The terms and fees were not published on the pages read. See GCash for business.
A provider’s fee and Shopify’s third-party fee add together. Work out the total for the payment methods your customers use.
What can be automated around a store
Shopify’s page lists the building blocks without detail: “Create marketing automations”, abandoned checkout recovery, discount codes, customer segments, email campaigns and a “Workflow Automation” product in its navigation. Beyond Shopify’s own tools, a general tool such as Zapier or n8n can pass orders to a sheet, an accounting system or a chat message, if each has a connector for your plan. Examples are logged orders for QuickBooks and new customers sent to HubSpot.
The pricing page says Basic has “Limited data access” when building custom apps, so check what a connector needs before choosing a plan.
Apps, partners and dropshipping
Shopify’s page says stores can “Integrate with 1000s of apps”. It lists “Sell and source products with Shopify Collective” in its plan table. Searches for Shopify partners, the app store and dropshipping are better answered on Shopify’s own App Store and partner pages, which this site did not read, so no claims about them are made here.
Who Shopify suits
Verdict by use case
- A seller who wants a hosted store with built-in checkout and apps
- Shopify Hosting, domain and SSL are listed on every plan.
- A seller who takes mostly GCash, Maya and bank transfers
- Check the payment route first Shopify Payments is not available in the Philippines, so a third-party provider and its fees apply.
- A small shop that wants a simple site rather than a store
- Compare with AI website builders A website builder may cost less if you do not need a cart.
- A seller moving to a team with several staff
- Grow or Advanced These list 5 and 15 additional staff accounts.
What to plan for
Prices are in dollars. The peso cost moves with the exchange rate. Whether a Philippine-issued card is charged in dollars, and the fee the issuer adds, is decided by the issuer.
Fees stack. The plan fee, Shopify’s third-party fee and the provider’s fee all apply.
Customer data. A store holds names, addresses and order history. The Data Privacy Act of 2012 applies. See the pillar guide.
AI tools. Sidekick is Shopify’s assistant. Read its output before it affects prices or customer messages. For other tools, see AI tools for Philippine small business.
