GoHighLevel CRM: what it is and how it fits a Philippine business
Short answer
GoHighLevel, which the company now writes as HighLevel, is a CRM and marketing platform that combines contacts, pipelines, workflows, funnels and websites, calendars and a shared inbox for SMS and social messages. It is priced in US dollars from US$97 a month and is built mainly for agencies that run separate workspaces for clients, though one business can use a single workspace. For Philippine use, SMS access and WhatsApp need separate set-up steps.

What GoHighLevel includes
The home page lists these parts of the platform. The descriptions below use HighLevel’s own labels.
CRM and pipelines. The page lists “CRM” and “Sales Pipelines”. A CRM is where contact records live; a pipeline shows each deal as a card that moves through stages. Every plan on the pricing page lists unlimited contacts and unlimited users.
Workflows and automation. Listed as “Workflows & Automations”. A workflow starts from a trigger and runs actions. The next section covers it.
Funnels and websites. Listed as “Websites, Funnels & Landing Pages”. People search for this as the “GoHighLevel website builder” and “GoHighLevel funnels”. A funnel is a short series of pages, such as an ad landing page, a form and a thank-you page. How its page editor compares with other builders was not tested here.
Calendars. Listed as “Calendars”, with “Paid Calendars” under sales.
Conversations inbox. The page lists a “Consolidated conversation stream (SMS, Messenger, Instagram DM, Whatsapp, Livechat)”. Messages from those channels appear in one place instead of in each app.
Reputation tools. Listed as “Reputation Management”.
Mobile app. The page says “Mobile App: Run your business from anywhere.” Searches for the “GoHighLevel app” are about this app and about the browser dashboard.
The page also lists Voice AI, Ad Manager, Social Planner, Affiliate Manager, Loyalty Programs and Communities. The set changes often, so read the current list on HighLevel’s site before you decide.
Who it suits
Agencies. The plans are built around sub-accounts, which are separate workspaces. Starter includes 3, and Unlimited and Agency Pro include unlimited sub-accounts. An agency can give each client their own workspace and contacts.
Service businesses. One business needs one sub-account. HighLevel’s pricing FAQ says the Starter plan suits “a single business owner or a new agency”. Clinics, home-service firms and real estate teams use this kind of setup when they want enquiries, follow-up and bookings in one place.
Who may prefer a lighter tool. A business that only needs a contact list, a booking link or Messenger replies can compare the plan price with a single-purpose tool. The Manychat page covers a chat-focused option, and the Messenger bot guide shows what a Page needs.
Automation in GoHighLevel
Triggers and actions. HighLevel’s help center describes the Contact Tag trigger: it “allows you to automate workflows in HighLevel whenever a contact tag is added or removed.” The article gives these steps: open Automations, then Workflows, create a workflow from blank or from a template, add the trigger, choose the tag, add actions such as sending an email or SMS, assigning a task or updating a pipeline stage, then save and test by tagging a contact. A trigger is the event that starts a workflow.
Common workflows. The kinds of steps the help center names fit a typical follow-up chain: a form arrives, a contact is tagged, a message goes out, a task is assigned, a pipeline stage changes. Build the first one around a task your team repeats every day.
Premium workflow features are metered. HighLevel’s pricing help article lists workflow premium features at US$0.01 per execution, a fraction of a peso at the rate of 9 Oct 2026. Read the pricing page for which features count.
Where it stops and a tool like n8n takes over. A CRM workflow suits steps that start and end inside HighLevel. A process that spans other systems, or that needs custom logic, is the territory of a general workflow tool. The n8n page explains that option, and the small business workflow guide helps you decide which steps belong where. Whether a given external app has a native HighLevel step: check HighLevel’s current action list.
Using it in the Philippines
Phone numbers and SMS. HighLevel’s help article on voice permissions states: “If you need SMS access to a specific country, you must request that permission independently.” Voice and SMS permissions are managed separately. Whether SMS to Philippine numbers is enabled on a sub-account: ask HighLevel support, as no HighLevel page read on 12 Oct 2026 stated it.
Twilio’s Philippines guidelines, read on 12 Oct 2026, state that “Sender ID Registration is required in the Philippines” and that messages from unregistered sender IDs have been blocked since 7 April 2025. They also require opt-in for promotional messages and an opt-out method, and they bar shortened URLs in message content. HighLevel’s help center says its phone system is priced like Twilio, but which route a sub-account uses for Philippine traffic: Not confirmed from the official documentation on 12 Oct 2026. Plan the sender registration before a campaign date.
Messenger and Instagram connections. HighLevel’s article “Getting Started - Setup Facebook and Instagram Messenger” gives four steps: in Settings open Integrations and click Connect under Facebook & Instagram, log in to Facebook and select the Page linked to your Instagram account, click Connect Facebook & Instagram, then click Sync Leads. The Instagram account must be linked to the Facebook Page. New senders create or update contacts according to the Contact Deduplication Preferences. HighLevel’s help center also describes Facebook Chat and Instagram Chat widget types that send website visitors to Messenger or Instagram DMs while keeping the conversation in the HighLevel inbox. Meta’s own messaging rules still apply, as the Messenger guide sets out.
WhatsApp. The pricing page lists “WhatsApp integration” as an add-on at US$10 per month per sub-account, about PHP 628, and says no plan includes it. WhatsApp message charges are set by Meta, not HighLevel. Meta’s pricing page says it has charged per template message since 1 July 2025, and that numbers with the +63 calling code fall under its “Rest of Asia Pacific” rate region. The WhatsApp bots guide explains the rules.
Payment in USD. HighLevel’s help center states “All prices are in USD.” The peso cost moves with the exchange rate, and the card issuer sets its conversion fee. The pricing page does not say whether taxes are added.
White label and sub-accounts
Agencies use sub-accounts to give each client a separate workspace. On the pricing page, Unlimited and Agency Pro include unlimited sub-accounts. HighLevel’s FAQ says you can “white-label the desktop web app”, which means the dashboard carries your brand and not HighLevel’s. The plan tiers do not list white labelling, and a separate “White label mobile app” add-on is listed at US$497 per month, about PHP 31,222. The Enterprise plan includes a white-label mobile app. Search phrases such as “go high level white label” point here. Whether a particular branding use is allowed: read HighLevel’s terms.
Setup path
Create the account
Start the 14-day free trial on a plan. HighLevel states that billing begins automatically when the trial ends unless it is cancelled, and that usage charges can apply during the trial.
Create a sub-account
Make one workspace for the business. Starter includes 3.
Build the first pipeline
List the stages a lead passes through, from new enquiry to won or lost, and add them to a pipeline.
Build the first workflow
Pick one trigger, such as a form submission or a tag, and one or two actions, such as an acknowledgement message and a task for staff. Test it with your own contact record.
Connect one channel
Connect Facebook and Instagram, or a calendar, and test with a second account that is not an admin.
Limits to know
- The plan price is not the whole bill. Calling, SMS, email and AI features carry usage charges on top, as the pricing page notes with “Usage based charges apply.”
- Add-ons are priced per sub-account. WhatsApp, the AI Employee plans and others are listed separately.
- Philippine SMS needs preparation. Country permission and sender ID registration come first.
- Consent still applies. Customer names and phone numbers are personal data under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). Messages for marketing need the recipient’s permission. The AI automation guide covers the basics.
- It is a builder. Pipelines, forms, calendars and workflows take configuration and testing.
Alternatives
Other CRMs with automation exist, and general tools cover parts of the same ground. The Zapier alternatives page compares workflow tools by pricing unit. For chat-only needs, see Manychat and the chatbot platform comparison. Compare on what a month of real use costs, including usage charges, and not on the headline plan price.
