Short answer

A Philippine seller can sell inside a marketplace (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop), where the platform charges fees on each order, or on a store of its own (Shopify, WooCommerce), where the seller pays for the software. TikTok Shop’s Philippine seller page lists a 2.24 percent transaction fee and a PHP 3 order processing fee. Shopify lists plans from US$19 a month (about PHP 1,194). Lazada’s fees were not readable, and Shopee’s rates are marked for confirmation.

Marketplace or your own store

The choice is about who brings the shoppers and who takes a cut.

  • Marketplace. The platform has the shoppers, runs payments and often delivery, and charges the seller per order. The seller works inside the platform’s rules.
  • Own store. The seller owns the site and the customer list, pays for the software, and finds the shoppers through ads, social media and search.

A seller that uses both has to keep products and stock in step across them, which is where automation helps.

What “seller center” means

On each marketplace, the seller center (Shopee spells it Seller Centre) is the web and app dashboard for listing products, handling orders, shipping, vouchers and payouts. A search for “seller center login” or “seller center register” lands there. Each has its own sign-up requirements, which this page does not cover. Read them in the seller center itself.

Fees listed by the marketplaces

Marketplace fees change often, and each platform announces changes in its seller center. The figures below are the ones that could be read on 12 Oct 2026.

TikTok Shop Philippines

TikTok’s Philippine seller page, which carries the date 05/08/2026, lists these fees for each successful order:

FeeWhat the page says
Commission feeVaries by product sub-category, and differs for Marketplace and Mall sellers from 15 January 2025. The rate table is an image that could not be read
Transaction fee2.24 percent, VAT included, on successfully delivered orders
Shipping service fee5 percent for Mall sellers and 5.5 percent for Marketplace sellers, up to PHP 100 per item
Order processing feePHP 5 (tax inclusive) per delivered order, reduced to PHP 3 from 1 December 2025 until further notice
Seller growth fee1 percent for Electronics, Grocery and Lifestyle. 1.5 percent for Beauty and Personal Care, Fashion, and Mom and Baby, Health

TikTok also has a seller center article on withholding tax reimbursement. Ask your accountant how withholding tax applies to your sales.

Shopee Philippines

Shopee’s Seller Education Hub has articles on seller fees. The article text did not load for this site’s reader, so the rates here come from a search summary of those articles and need confirming in Seller Centre. They name a commission fee that varies by category and seller type, a transaction fee of 2.24 percent on buyers’ payments through Shopee’s payment services, an order processing fee of PHP 5 on successful orders (with the first 50 each month not charged), a platform shipping fee, a Seller Growth Support fee, and optional programme fees. The summary also reports that new sellers are exempt from commission for 90 days after a first listing. Treat all of these as unconfirmed until you read them in Seller Centre.

Lazada Philippines

Lazada’s Seller Center page redirected to a login and showed no fee schedule. No Lazada fee is quoted here. Read the fee pages inside Seller Center before you price products.

Store platforms

Shopify

Shopify’s Philippines pricing page lists plans in US dollars with no peso prices.

Swipe the table sideways to see all columns.

The page lists a trial of 3 days free and then US$1 a month for 3 months on most plans. The payment fee applies when you do not use Shopify Payments, and the page does not list Shopify Payments rates. Whether Shopify Payments is available to a Philippine business was not confirmed from the page. Shopify Flow, Shopify’s automation app, is free on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans, per Shopify’s help center.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce’s site calls it open-source and says it runs on WordPress. Its page says it works “without limits, compromises, or monthly platform fees” and lists more than 1,000 marketplace extensions and a payments product, WooPayments. It does not list hosting prices, payment fees or extension prices, so budget for hosting, a domain, extensions and a payment provider separately and read each one’s page.

What each platform lets a seller automate

  • Shopify. Shopify Flow monitors a store for events and runs a sequence of actions. Its Send HTTP Request action is on the Grow, Advanced and Plus plans.
  • TikTok Shop. The Partner Center documents an Order API that lets developers retrieve order information from seller shops for fulfilment, cancellations and returns, with a sandbox for testing.
  • Lazada. It runs an Open Platform for developers. The page read here showed only its title, so its scope is not described.
  • Shopee. Its developer program was not readable. Check Shopee’s Seller Centre.
  • WooCommerce. Automation depends on the extensions and the WordPress setup you add.

A workflow tool such as n8n can pass an order into a spreadsheet, a courier form or a message. Check the tool’s app list for each platform first. The workflow automation guide explains how to pick the first process, and the Messenger bots guide covers the chat side of selling.

Buyer data

Order data holds names, addresses and phone numbers. The Data Privacy Act (Republic Act No. 10173) applies to a seller that keeps it. It asks for reasonable security measures (Section 20). Marketplaces set their own rules for what a seller may do with buyer data, so read the seller agreement before exporting it to other tools. This is not legal advice.
